Scholarship Opportunities
We are proud to offer a number of scholarships to help fund your Gonzaga experience. Several of our scholarships are awarded based on the Common Application for admission, and others require a separate application.
The scholarships outlined below will be awarded to applicants for the 2013-2014 academic year. Please contact the Office of Admission with any questions you may have.
| The Gonzaga Guarantee If you choose to attend Gonzaga University, we guarantee your Gonzaga-funded scholarships and grants will not decrease if you maintain good academic standing, as defined in the Gonzaga catalogue, during your continuous four-year enrollment. (Please note: Restrictions apply for a small number of special programs. For more information, please contact the Office of Financial Aid.) |
Gonzaga Merit Scholarships:
- All students who complete the Application for Admission are automatically considered for one of several need-blind scholarships, no sseparate application forms are not required.
- Freshmen scholarships range from $3,500 to $16,000 per year and are guaranteed for four years (as long as the student enters as a freshman and maintains good academic standing)
- Transfer scholarships range from $10,500 to $13,500 per year and are guaranteed for two years (as long as the student maintains good academic standing)
- Criteria for the scholarship include difficulty of curriculum, grade point average, SAT or ACT test scores, extracurricular activities, recommendations, quality of the essay, and optional interview.
National Merit Awards:
- Available to National Merit Finalists who have contacted the National Merit Corporation to designate Gonzaga as their first choice college.
- Students must meet all notification deadlines and renewal requirements set forth by the National Merit Corporation.
- Awards are $3,000 per year for a total of four years. The award is increased to $5,000 per year if the applicant demonstrates significant financial need.
Girls and Boys State Scholarships:
- Available to selected high school seniors who list their participation in this program on the Application for Admission, no separate application is not required.
- Four delegates (two female and two male) will be chosen from each of the following states to receive a one-time award of $500: Alaska, California, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington.

Contact your guidance counselor or check with service organizations such as Knights of Columbus, Rotary Club, and Elks Club. Other possible sponsors include employers, parent's employers, trade associations, banks, credit unions, corporations, schools, and churches. |
