CLASSICAL MUSIC LIBRARY DATABASE INFORMATION

CLASSICAL MUSIC LIBRARY DATABASE

The Classical Music Library is an excellent place to search for Classical Western music.  The database provides access to biographies and images of composers, a dictionary of musical terms, a concise history of different periods of music, and the music itself.  You can listen to entire tracks for free online, and if you create a login (also free), you can save playlists of your favorite pieces in your profile.
If you want to purchase a recording, you’ll be charged a small fee to download the recording either in Windows Media Audio (WMA) or MP3 formats at 128k.  The Classical Music Library has a secure checkout area for music purchases.
The Classical Music Library has many features and entry points to materials.  You can browse by multiple categories, such as composer, conductor, ensemble, artist, period, and genre.  You can also browse through the database’s many Themed Playlists, compiled by editors of Classical Music Library, including:
•    Poetic Tone Pictures
•    Music for a Summer Evening
•    Bombastic Beethoven
•    Left at the Altar (under the Category “Wedding Music”)
