ATLA RELIGION DATABASE & ATLA SERIALS
ATLA Religion Database and ATLA Serials is produced by the American Theological Library Association, and combine to give you comprehensive coverage of journal articles, book reviews, and collections of essays pertaining to religion. ATLA provides citations for documents from over 1616 journals and 16,100 multi-author works. There are more than 517,000 article citations, over 220,000 essay citations, more than 474,000 book review citations, as well as some multimedia citations. The full text documents provided by ATLA are from over 100 journals selected by leading religion scholars, and include over 211,000 articles and book reviews. Coverage for this database primarily begins in 1949, with some indexing for journal titles reaching back into the 19th century.
ATLA makes it particularly easy to look up biblical passages. Clicking on the “Scriptures” link above the main search box reveals an index of biblical passages to aid in targeted searching. Simply check the boxes next to the relevant passages listed and click “Search” to pull up all articles that reference those passages.
