Foley Library is still available to you even in Florence! You may not be able to walk across Mulligan Field for an evening of quiet study at your favorite table and you can't simply check out a book or a video and head to your dorm room, but you still have access to a variety of online databases and our electronic document delivery service. Can I get books?
- Sorry, no. Even though there are many willing library staff members who have volunteered to make personal deliveries to Florence, the reality is the cost and time involved to ship books to Florence(not to mention what it might cost you to return them on time) prevents us from offering our usual book loan service.
Do I need my Gonzaga ID card to use this service?
- To use the online databases you will be asked for your user name and password. This should be the same as your login to ZagMail or Blackboard. The default login is:
- Username:your first initial and last name up to 8 characters total with no spaces. Example: dalighie (as in Dante Alighieri - a famous Florentine citizen).
- Password:If you have not changed it already, this is your first initial, last initial and last 4 digits of your social security number. (Total of 6 characters / no spaces). Example: da1234
- Library ID Number: Your Gonzaga ID number is also your library ID number. It's the 8 digit number on the front of your Gonzaga ID card. You'll also need this number to access your Foley Library account.
How do I get articles that aren't available online?
- Foley subscribes to a number of databases. If the article you need isn't available in the database you were searching it may be in full-text elsewhere. Search Periodicals at Foley to see if the journal you need is available online through another database. You will also be able to tell if the journal is available here in the library.
- If an article isn't available online, but we have it here at Foley in paper format, you can place a request through ILLiad and we will send you a copy of the article electronically.
- If an article is neither online nor available in Foley Library, we can get it for you through Interlibrary Loan. You can place a request for the article through ILLiad.
What is ILLiad?
- ILLiad is our new Interlibrary Loan system. Florence students may also use ILLiad to request copies of articles from the Foley Library Collection.

How will I receive articles I've requested?
