We prepare our professional candidates for their careers in education by providing in-classroom teaching experiences.
The Spokane community is the perfect place for School of Education students to get hands-on experience working in classrooms. Arlington Elementary, Glover Middle School, Ferris High School and about 50 other public and private schools actively participate in our programs.
The student teaching program in the School of Education offers the opportunity for students to implement the skills they've learned and add new experiences to their repertoire. Being a Student Teacher will prepare one as an educator, and strengthen the passion for teaching.
Student teachers are in undergraduate, MIT, post baccalaureate, and BGS programs here at the School of Education. Student teaching is a requirement for anyone seeking certification as a teacher in elementary or secondary education. Students receive their residency certification as the first step toward professional certification.
Candidates must apply to the Student Teaching program by completing the application forms located here.
Certification in the state of Washington requires professional candidates to complete Field Experiences. Click here to view course listings for the Field Experience program.
