Application Deadlines

The application for the Fall 2024 cohort is closed. 

  • The application for Fall 2025 cohort will open in September.

Eligibility

Post-Baccalaureate applicants (pre-certification) must have an appropriate bachelor's degree such as psychology, education-related, or counseling-related. The degree must come from a regionally accredited institution.

Post-Certification applicants must have an Ed.S. in school psychology degree, or equivalent such as a 60-credit master’s degree in a closely related degree field such as school counseling. The degree must come from a regionally accredited institution.  When applying please select the "PsyD in School Psychology - Post Certification" application.

All Applicants must display a high degree of professional dispositions and personal and social maturity as indicated by a study of the candidate’s record and an interview with school psychology faculty.

GPA Requirements

  • Minimum Undergraduate GPA of 3.5.
  • Minimum Graduate GPA of 3.5 (if applicable).
  • If your cumulative GPA falls below a 3.0 you must include an “Explanation of GPA” statement in your application. 

Application Requirements

  • If documents have been generated using Artificial Intelligence (AI), your application may be denied.

  • Complete the Online Application

Official Transcripts

  • Submit one official transcript from each college or university listed on your application.
  • If you previously attended Gonzaga or are a current student, GU transcripts are ordered by your Admissions Counselor on your behalf.

Letters of Recommendation

  • Provide three professional recommenders who can evaluate your leadership, interpersonal skills, critical thinking, judgment, professional practice and your ability and capacity to complete a graduate degree.
  • Supervisors or past professors are great choices for recommenders.
  • Recommendations from family members are not accepted.
  • Letters of recommendation are facilitated through the online application.

Statement of Purpose

  • Submit an essay, in your own words, answering why you are interested in joining the Psy.D. in School Psychology program.

Resumé

  • Submit your current resumé or curriculum vitae of professional experience.

Required Exams

  • GRE Psychology Subject Test

Interview

  • You may be invited for an interview. This will be arranged by the department after submission of your application materials.

 

Military-Connected & Veteran Students

  • Currently, all active-duty military members must have permission/approval from an Education Services Officer (ESO), Military Counselor, or the Military Service prior to applying.
