I teach physics courses to students from all majors on campus. Exposing students to topics such as the conservation laws of nature makes teaching introductory courses incredibly rewarding! Coursework emphasizes critical thinking, not rote memorization. My research is in the clustering structure of atomic nuclei, particularly how some nuclei can be successfully modeled as a collection of alpha particles. I am also the moderator of the Physics Journal Club, where students and faculty from across campus discuss fascinating news from the physics community. Recent topics have been the groundbreaking discovery of gravitational waves and biographies of colorful scientists from history.
