Biography Publications
Dr. David Smith holds a Ph.D. in Sport and Exercise Science and a Masters in Sport and Exercise Psychology from the German Sports University with his Bachelor of Science in Sport and Exercise Science from Metropolitan State University of Denver. Additionally, he is an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Certified Sport Psychologist by the German Association for Sport Psychology, International Olympic Committee Certified Specialist in Mental Health for Elite Athletes, and a NASM Certified Nutrition Coach.
With all these titles, certifications, and degrees, Dr. Smith has worked as an applied sport and exercise practitioner since 2009 as he is a published research scientist and author, as well a lecturer. Dr. Smith's work encompassing various domains across both Kinesiology and Sport Management including mental performance, strength and conditioning, diversity/equity/inclusion (focus on gender identity and sexual orientation), sport coaching (soccer, swimming, water polo), group fitness, personal training, and fitness center management.
