Welcomes New Dean
Dr. Stephen E. Silliman
Dr. Silliman officially assumed his new role as Dean of Engineering & Applied Science in July of 2012. Silliman, a hydrology engineer, has spent the previous 26 years as a faculty member of Notre Dame where he served as Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs. Dr. Silliman has been recognized nationally and internally for his teaching, service, and research. In 2006, he received the ASEE Outstanding Teaching Award as well as the ASEE Global Engineering and Engineering Technology Award. In 2011, he was selected as the National Ground Water Association Distinguished Darcy Lecturer, an internationally renowned program. During the year, he presented speeches at 60 locations around the world, including Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia.
