The course summary is an official document that is required for Gonzaga University program completion and for certification for the state of Washington.
- The course summary needs to be typed, without errors, signed and dated by all listed
- Do not list a grade lower than a C (2.0). It cannot count toward any course used for certification
- If you transfer a course, list the exact course title that is reflected on your transcript, not the title it replaced
- If you transfer a course, list in the (TC) column the college/university where it was taken. Please change into semester credits, not quarter credits
**Original transcripts from other universities must be in the certification file. Please provide transcripts to the certification office.- List ALL anticipated endorsements. List ALL coursework taken and coursework needed to be taken. ALL endorsements need a methods course and need a documented experience in addition to the required coursework designated by the state
- You are to set up an appointment with your SOE advisor, with your course summary and transcripts. (They can be unofficial) You and your SOE advisor will sign the course summary verifying that this information is accurate and reflects that all certification requirements have been met. This needs to be done BEFORE your certification appointment.
- Do not submit a course summary that does not have all of the required signatures, program requirements and anticipated endorsements.
- DO NOT list any grades of IP, RD, and W. Please leave blank if there is not a grade yet. You may list "waiver".
- If you are doing Special Education, you need only ONE regular education field experience.
- Special Education with Elementary Education needs TWO regular education field experiences.
