This class is designed to promote individual fitness for total mind/body health. The primary emphasis will focus on strength and stretching movements, incorporating breathing and relaxation techniques. Students will benefit from greater body awareness, increased strength, flexibility, and an overall feeling of well being. Studio Yoga allows students to experience yoga in a dedicated yoga space, a heated serene off-campus setting free from distraction, complete with yoga props, changing rooms and more. The warmer room allows the muscles to relax, when the muscles relax, the body opens up and the mind follows.

Red Cross Certification in Community First Aid and CPR is offered through a class that prepares students to recognize and respond to illness/injury situations. Learn basic care for victims, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation and rescue breathing for infants, children and adults, as well as immediate care for injuries. Using Automatic External Defibrillators is covered. Class includes hands-on lab skill application. This class does not meet the Physical Education and Sports Management majors' requirement. This course provides preparation in the basic knowledge and skills involved in recognizing and responding to a variety of emergencies and life-threatening situations, including training in how to evaluate and provide basic care for victims of injury and/or sudden illness until professional medical help arrives (CPR and First Aid). Additionally, students receive instruction and practice in the prevention of common injuries. Safety and health education issues are studied with their application to prevention in the community, home and workplace settings. EDPE 621 Facilities in PE-Athlet-Sports 3.00 credits
Functional planning, construction, maintaining, and expanding indoor and outdoor facilities relative to equitable programs in the elementary and secondary schools as well as those facilities for sport and recreation in the private sector.
 
EDPE 689 Master's Research Project 3.00 credits
This course involves the identification and in-depth exploration of a topic or issue in physical education, athletics, or sports administration in preparation for the final oral presentation. The project must be completed and submitted in a written form or manuscript suitable for publication.

EDPE 696A Practicum:Athletic & Sport Adm 3.00 credits
An intensive field supervised experience in the administration of sport, physical education, and athletic programs. The experience is developed by the individual under the direction of an on-site coordinator and graduate advisor.
 
EDPE 696B Practicum: PE-Ath-Sport Adm II 3.00 credits
A continuation of EDPE 696. An intensive field supervised experience in the administration of sport, physical education and athletic programs. The experience is developed by the individual under the direction of an on-site coordinator and graduate advisor.
 
EDPE 696C Practicum:PE-Ath-Sport Adm III 3.00 credits
A continuation of 696B. An intensive field supervised experience in the administration of sport, physical education and athletic programs. The experience is developed by the individual under the direction of an on-site coordinator and graduate advisor.
 
EDPE 699 Capstone Experience .00 credits
This is a student's final exit experience demonstrating competency in content knowledge through oral, and written communication and presentation skills. The student will present his/her completed work from EDPE 689 to invited faculty, staff, students, and friends.
