The Gonzaga Center for Applied Behavior Analysis in Spokane, WA serves children with mental disabilities from all over the inland northwest. Graduate and undergraduate students take advantage of the rare opportunity to participate in outpatient assessment and treatment, while working closely with faculty and a tight-knit group of student colleagues.

As a fundamental part of the experience, students perform traditional descriptive assessments. Working with faculty, the students use functional analysis to identify behavioral function. Students then develop treatment packages and implement them in the clinic throughout their degree program.

Completion of the functional analysis track in the M.Ed. program prepares students to take the Board Certified Behavior Analyst exam. This allows them to serve as a practitioner, as an employee, or, with additional experience, to start an independent consulting practice. Students can also choose to obtain Washington state teacher certification.
