Administrative Certification
through the
M.A. Educational Administration

The Leadership Formation Program is an innovative on-campus certification program dedicated to the development of future school principals, program administrators, and superintendents.
Program Framework
The program is designed for working professionals. The candidates participate in a cohort consisting of administrative teams that address a practical case study while building capacity in areas including:
- Leadership
- Equity and excellence
- Transformational change
- Collaborative decision-making
- Inquiry and reflective practice.
Working with faculty tutors, candidates develop the skills and knowledge base to solve practical problems encountered in educational organizations.
Certification Tracks

After completing a 23 credit hour sequence, candidates may qualify to apply for a Washington State Initial Principal, Program Administrator, or Superintendent Certificate. Candidates may combine the Certificate with the requirements for a masters or doctoral degree.
The Leadership Formation Program intends to prepare socially conscious and critical practitioners to think and act creatively, responsibly and effectively in educational leadership roles.
