    1. Participants will understand the contributions of multidimensional, multi-method methods to the assessment of emotions and behavior.
    2. Participants will differentiate primary, secondary, and tertiary assessment and intervention practices.
  • Kristin Souers, Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Adjunct Professor, Gonzaga University -  “What Does It Really Mean to be Trauma Informed? Promotion of Resiliency Despite Adversity"

    1. Participants will deepen their understanding of the prevalence of childhood trauma and the impact of trauma and toxic stress on learning and development.
    2. Participants will explore strategies for community members to utilize with children with (known and unknown) trauma histories – helping to sustain learning-ready states.
  • Jim Mazza , Ph.D., University of Washington -  “Assessing Self-Harming and Suicidal Behavior Among School-Based Adolescents"

    1. Participants will be able to identify assessment and intervention strategies across an MTSS structure for middle and high school students.
    2. Participants will be able to identify the role of community and parents within a comprehensive approach to suicide prevention.

Alan S. Kaufman “Excellence in Assessment Award” will be presented to Randy Kamphaus, Ph.D.

Friday, March 31

  • 7:30 a.m. – 8:15 a.m.: Check-In and Continental Breakfast (1 hour long)
  • 8:15 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.: Keynote Address and Presentation #1 – Randy Kamphaus, Ph.D.
  • 10:00 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. – Break
  • 10:15 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.: Presentation #2 – Kristin Souers, MA.
  • 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.: Lunch Break
  • 1:00 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.: Presentation #3 – Jim Mazza, Ph.D.
  • 2:45 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Close

Rates:

Registration includes a continental breakfast and one-day conference. Brown Bag lunches are available for purchase at time of registration, but are not required. There are several dining options on and around campus as well.
