Kenneth Renner-Singer, Ed.D.

Dr. Kenny Renner-Singer is an educator and school leader with more than two and a half decades of experience in teaching, educational administration, and instructional leadership. His work focuses on strengthening teaching and learning, fostering inclusive and collaborative school communities, and creating educational opportunities that ensure success of every student.

Dr. Renner-Singer began his career in education in 2000, as a teacher at Pioneer Middle School in Walla Walla, Washington. In 2005, he became principal of Icicle River Middle School and Beaver Valley Elementary School in the Cascade School District in Leavenworth, Washington. In 2012, he became principal of Alpine Lakes Elementary School. As a school leader, he worked with teachers and staff to establish clear learning goals, use student data to inform instruction, and develop targeted supports for students with differing academic needs. During his tenure, Icicle River Middle School and Alpine Lakes Elementary experienced significant gains in student achievement.

Throughout his career, Dr. Renner-Singer has emphasized collaboration, continuous improvement, belonging, and high expectations for students. His professional interests include educational leadership, instructional improvement, organizational learning, and the development of school environments in which students and educators can thrive.

Dr. Renner-Singer currently is a lecturer in the Educational Leadership and Administration program and Director of Principal Certification at Gonzaga University.
