Dr. Starbuck began teaching at Gonzaga in 2002, engaging students with biblical scholarship, theological reflection, spiritual growth, and social justice. In 2017, he received an exemplary faculty award for excellence in teaching. Dr. Starbuck is a co-founder of Gonzaga’s Interreligious Textual Study Institute. He is an avid endurance/road racing cyclist and the faculty sponsor of the Gonzaga Cycling Club. Dr. Starbuck specializes in biblical theology and hermeneutics, regularly publishing articles and delivering scholarly papers. He was ordained in 1990 by the Presbyterian Church (USA) and continues to serve as the Teaching Elder of Manito Presbyterian Church.
