REGARDLESS OF MAJOR

Four Types of Scholarship Awards

Scholarships

1. Lesson Awards

These scholarships are offered to students regardless of major. They are awarded to qualified students for membership in one of the major performing ensembles. The awards cover the cost of private lessons and any lab fees involved in ensemble participation. Scholarship applications should be received no later than February 15, 2008.

2. Music Major Awards

Students wishing to major in music may qualify for music major awards. These awards averaged $2,500 each for the 2002-2003 academic year. Scholarship applications should be received no later than February 15, 2008.

3. Accompanying Scholarships

Students with the ability to accompany one of the major ensembles may audition for any accompanying scholarship. These awards will vary depending on the accompanying responsibilities. They may be awarded to students studying in any field, but they will not be added to music major awards.

4. Music Department Scholarship Honoring Gordon Merwin

Gordon Merwin was a member of the Gonzaga Men's Glee Club and the Gonzaga Quartet from 1935-1939. This scholarship honors his memory. Students applying for any of the above scholarships will be considered for this award.
