Future Plans:
I'll be starting a PhD program for Computer Science at the University of New Mexico this fall. I hope to study computer logic, automated theorem proving and the mathematical foundations of computer science.
How has your major contributed to your professional or personal development?
My majors have let me explore a large selection of theoretical topics, and helped me understand what it is that I want to pursue. I've had the opportunity to serve as a research and teaching assistant, all in my time as an undergraduate. My teachers have been kind and encouraging my whole time here. I'd especially like to thank Dr. Eric Hogle(Math), Dr. Paul De Palma(CS) and Dr. Robert Ray(Math) I chose to come to Gonzaga in no small part due to the small class sizes. I believe that was a great decision, as I found it easy to make lasting connections with professors and fellow students.
What has been your proudest or most significant accomplishment during your Gonzaga career?
I was given the opportunity to serve as a teaching assistant for CPSC 351, an upper level theory course. I got to work one on one with students and help them understand difficult theoretical material. The class culminated in me getting to give a lecture on Cantor's diagonalization argument and the undecidability of the halting problem. That was one of my proudest accomplishments, and I'm still thankful to Dr. De Palma for the opportunity.
