Senior Lecturer Frank Slak’s teaching interests stem from prior careers in journalism and law.  He is a former Washington State lawyer and sat on the state appellate court bench for more 20 years.  As a journalist, he was a reporter and feature writer and sat on the state, sports and city editor desks.  Slak combines a theoretical understanding of essential principles with very practical application of them in “the real world.”  His personal interests include his family (which includes twin daughters and seven grandchildren), fishing, cross-country skiing, reading, writing, cooking and listening blues music.  He has written several freelance magazine articles for fishing publications and is a fledgling blues-guitar and harmonica player.
