Spokane Intercollegiate Research Conference

The Spokane Intercollegiate Research Conference, to be held on April 26, 2014 on the Gonzaga University campus, is an opportunity for college students from all disciplines to present their own research in panels or in poster sessions.

Students are encouraged to propose oral or poster presentations and faculty may propose panels. The deadline for applications is Friday, February 14th, 2014 presentations may be about research experiences from both the fall and spring semesters. Apply today:

Students who have presented at SIRC in the past have cited the following as most worthwhile:

  • Hearing about excellent scholarship from a variety of fields
  • Seeing what other students and researchers are working on
  • Getting experience presenting their own work to an audience 
  • Getting feedback from outside sources

SIRC is open to students from Gonzaga University, Whitworth University, Washington State University-Spokane, Eastern Washington University, North Idaho College, and the Spokane Community Colleges.

As part of a grant from the Independent Colleges of Washington, this year's SIRC will also include participants from five regional colleges and universities: Saint Martin's University; Seattle Pacific; Heritage University; Pacific Lutheran University; and Walla Walla University.

The Spokane Intercollegiate Research Conference (SIRC) is committed to promoting excellence in undergraduate research from all disciplines.

SIRC serves as a venue for undergraduate researchers from any discipline to present their scholarly research to their fellow students and scholars in and beyond their discipline.

SIRC provides disciplinary-specific guidelines to help undergraduate researchers develop their conference presentations.

SIRC fosters meaningful mentoring relationships between faculty and undergraduates.

SIRC fosters collaboration among Spokane area universities and community colleges.
