Theatre and Dance

Thanks for your interest in the Theatre Arts program at Gonzaga University.

Is your passion performance? Design? Dance? Come to Gonzaga and explore.

Three mainstage productions and one dance concert each year. Open auditions in all casting. Student productions, readers theatre, theatre sports. An ongoing connection to film production companies, professional theatres, and international theatre opportunities.

As a theatre major you'll develop your aspirations to their highest extent. You’ll practice new skills in small classes where you’ll receive the careful attention a developing artist requires.

As a designer you won't just make models. Under the supervision of our professional faculty, you'll create the sets, lights, and costumes for our productions.

As an actor, you'll be trained to perform the great plays, from Shakespeare to Ibsen to the best in contemporary drama; but you'll also know what to do when a television or movie director says, "Action!"

As a dance minor, you'll study multiple styles of dance, experience the thrill of performance, and grow as a dance artist by choreographing your own work and teaching creative dance to local school children.

And all that you learn will be in the context of service to others, framed in the important issues of our times.
