Co-Director, Graduate Program
The Department of Religious Studies at Gonzaga University offers the Master of Arts in Religious Studies to meet the needs of persons seeking greater understanding and practical knowledge of biblical studies, systematic theology and spirituality. This program is designed as a terminal degree or as preparation for doctoral studies.
This program provides graduate theological background for teaching, consulting, research, and development of theological resources for ministry, adult education programs, and other services to the Church and the wider civic community. Students have combined their theological work with diverse career commitments, including church ministry, journalism, medicine, community service, chaplaincy, business and law, to mention a few.
The Graduate Program of Religious Studies is rooted in Gonzaga University's mission and its humanistic, Catholic, and Jesuit tradition. It is an ecumenically oriented community of educators, scholars, and students engaged in a faith that seeks understanding, builds community, and does justice. Our graduate program promotes excellence, educating and forming leaders committed to service and sensitive to the needs of church and community. Religious Studies at Gonzaga is an educational enterprise that builds upon the Mission Statements of Gonzaga University and the Religious Studies Department, thus reflecting the humanistic, Catholic and Jesuit character of Gonzaga University.
