Dr. Taninchev received her PhD in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh in April of 2009. She also has a BA in Foreign Affairs and Economics from the University of Virginia and an MA from the Institute of French Studies at New York University, where she focused on French Politics and Society. Her teaching and research interests include international relations, international law and organizations, and the politics of the European Union.

After having worked and studied as a Jesuit priest in Japan, Iraq, Jamaica, Australia and the Philippines for a decade and a half, and having earned a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University as well as a Ph.D. in Politics at Monash University (Melbourne, Australia), Fr. Michael J. Connolly, S.J., has been teaching Comparative and International Politics at Gonzaga University since 1983. Having served as Chair of the Political Science Department and Director of the International Studies Program, Fr. Connolly, S.J., enjoys teaching about the politics of numerous foreign countries such as China, Japan, Indonesia, Iraq, Iran, India, Nigeria and Zimbabwe as well as about significant global issues such as terrorism, world trade, globalization, the North-South gap, human rights, ethnic conflict, and environmental degradation.

Joe Gardner joined the GU Political Science Department in 2011.  He was previously an assistant professor at Northern Arizona University and most recently a visiting professor at the University of Montana.  He teaches courses in the area of constitutional law and the courts, American foreign policy, and American politics.  He also serves as the GU Prelaw Advisor.

Dr. Stavrianos holds an A.B. in Political Science from Barnard College and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science with a Doctoral Emphasis in Women's Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Prior to teaching at Gonzaga University, Dr. Stavrianos taught Women's Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara and Political Science at Northern Arizona University.

Dr. Stavrianos' current research focuses on the use of motherhood as a frame for women's political action in the United States. She teaches courses in American politics, women and politics, urban politics, and race and ethnic politics.
