The Arabic Language

Arabic is a Central Semitic language which is related to other Semitic languages such as Hebrew and Syriac. It is spoken by more than 280 million people as a first language and by 250 million more as a second language. Most native speakers live in the Middle East and North Africa. There are many different Arabic dialects depending on the region, country, city, village or family heritage. Modern Standard Arabic is the only form of Arabic used in schools and universities.  All books are written in Modern Standard Arabic which is the language for media and office settings.

  • Studying Arabic can lead to careers in journalism, business, education, government, and many others.
  • Learn a foreign language that is close to the native language of Christ.
  • Arab World nations are a fast growing market for trade.
  • Learn about the world's oldest civilization.
