The English Department is pleased to announce the Franz and Ann Schneider Writing Contest for the best student writing projects from this year's first-year Composition courses and this year's Introduction to Literature courses.  Any student enrolled in English 101, 200, 102, 105, or 106 during summer 2012, fall semester 2012, or spring semester 2013 is eligible to enter.  In addition, writing projects from spring semester 2012 that were due in class after March 30, 2012 may be submitted this year. No more than two writing projects may be submitted by any student, and a student may not win more than one award per category.  All submissions will be evaluated by a committee from the English Department.  Prizes, including cash ($100 for first place, $50 for second place, and $25 for third place), will be awarded to the authors of the best projects from each of the two first-year categories, Composition and Literature.

DEADLINE
The deadline for the Schneider Essay Contest is Wednesday, March 27, 2013.
