One of my main goals with teaching is to prepare students to be successful in their future careers. My hope is that students surpass me in knowledge and impact as they continue in graduate and professional programs, growing in servant leadership skills to transform their communities for better health. My current research interests are focused on heart rate variability as it relates to individuals with brain injuries as well as dietary interventions for individuals with diagnosed heart disease. Other research interests have focused on Type II Diabetes prevention and obesogenic disease states.
