The fourth SEAS Summer Immersion Program (SSIP) presented by the School of Engineering & Applied Science offered 16 high-school aged students the opportunity to explore engineering and computer science.

For five and a half days, the students lived in a Gonzaga dorm and performed hands-on projects and experiments designed to provide a taste of careers in these fields.

By working alongside Gonzaga’s faculty and undergraduates, the SSIP students saw firsthand how engineering touches every part of society.

Brooke Colburn gives an overview of Engineering Management principles to the SSIP students.

Every evening, professional engineers gave inspiring talks about what drew them to their engineering or computer science fields. Glorilyn Maw, Lyssa Blood, and Monica Fishburn are all Gonzaga engineering alumni, and Rebecca Long is a computer science graduate of Eastern Washington University. More about our speakers at the SSIP page.
