Structural Engineering Students Take Advantage of Spokane Conference

Structural engineers from across the Pacific Northwest met in Spokane at the end of September for two full days of networking and expert insights. A delegation of Gonzaga's Civil Engineering students attended the 2025 Structural Engineers Association (SEA) Northwest Conference thanks to sponsorship by the Structural Engineering of Washington Foundation (SEWF).

The conference covered a variety of topics including earthquake engineering, historical buildings, construction with traditional materials (steel, masonry, timber and concrete) and mass timber, structural engineering case studies, soil improvement, loads, tall buildings, flood resistance, and building code updates.
