Kiplinger's Ranks GU 18th Best Private Universities in West/Southwest
Gonzaga News Service
SPOKANE, Wash. — Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine ranks Gonzaga University the No. 18 Best College Value among private universities in the West/Southwest for 2015 and the No. 36 Best College Value among private universities nationwide. Factors contributing to Gonzaga's exceptional value include: academic competitiveness, strong four-year graduation rate, student indebtedness (at graduation), cost and financial aid, and academic support.
To develop the rankings, Kiplinger started with data on nearly 1,200 public and private four-year schools, added its own reporting, then narrowed the list based on measures of academic quality (55 percent) and cost criteria (45 percent). For the first time, Kiplinger this year includes a combined list of the 300 best values in private liberal arts colleges, private universities, and public colleges to show how the top schools in all three categories compare to each other. Gonzaga ranks No. 118 on that combined list.
