Comprehensive Leadership Program

Developing Leaders for the Common Good

We live in a complex world. The actions of our leaders have far-reaching social, economic, and environmental impact.

Gonzaga's Comprehensive Leadership Program (CLP) develops future leaders - women and men capable of crafting a vision for a better world. Through academic coursework leading to a Minor in Leadership Studies, reflective self-study, and co-curricular activities, this interdisciplinary, undergraduate leadership program will prepare you to be a great leaders on campus, in your community, and in your profession.

Beginning spring semester of their first year, CLP students take core classes that introduce leadership theory, analyze and develop personal leadership styles, and examine leadership in the context of other cultures and value systems. You will build community with your peers and supplement a 21 credit minor coursework with participation in retreats, workshops, speaker series, and elective classes. A junior-year internship option and a senior Legacy Project put your leadership knowledge and skills into practice as you experience first-hand the role of leadership in your life.

Initiated in 2002, the Comprehensive Leadership Program is a dynamic, growing program now serving nearly 200 undergraduate students. Gonzaga has long been know for its excellent programs at the graduate and doctoral level - the CLP extends this tradition to undergraduate students, training future leaders with our mission-centered values of service, justice, faith, and ethics.

Admissions to the Comprehensive Leadership Program is competitive and the application takes place during the fall of a student's first year, and is based on demonstrated leadership and desire to study leadership through written essays, individual interviews, group interviews, and student's grade point average.
