Transfer Students

Transfer students must complete all nursing pre-requisite coursework elsewhere with the exception of NURS 200. Transfer students take this course after admission to the nursing program. Transfer students will apply directly to the Gonzaga nursing program as major-ready students (for spring semester only) using the BSN application.  Applicants will be evaluated on their portfolio which includes their GPA, letters of recommendation, resume and a personal statement listing their goals and strengths.

Transfer students must also meet the requirements below in order to be eligible to apply to the upper division Nursing Major. They must complete GU nursing prerequisites prior to the beginning of the term for which the application is submitted. (Admission to the University does not guarantee admission to the Upper Division Nursing Major).

To be eligible for admission to the GU Upper Division Nursing Major, Students:

• Must meet all Gonzaga University admission requirements for transfer students.
• Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.9 on a 4. 0 scale.
• Must have  a C or better in all nursing prerequisite coursework.
• Must have met algebra proficiency requirement at the community college level either through proficiency testing or completion of an intermediate algebra course.
• Students may not transfer more than 64 semester credits or 96 quarter credits from a two year college.
• Students transferring to GU with 64 semester credits from a community college may not return to a two year college for any additional transfer credit.
• All transfer students must complete at least 30 semester credits at GU immediately preceding their graduation from the University.
