As a Master’s in Communication & Leadership (COML) alum currently working in graduate admissions for Gonzaga’s School of Leadership Studies, I’ve had the privilege of connecting with many students, alumni, and prospective students over the years. Through my experiences and their stories, I’ve gained insight into what makes our COML and Master’s in Organization Leadership (ORGL) programs a great fit for professionals looking to take the next step in their leadership journey.

A Strong, Connected Community

Although our COML and ORGL programs are flexible and can be completed fully online, they’re not self-paced. This means you’ll engage regularly with faculty and collaborate with fellow students, building meaningful relationships and a strong sense of community.

“I've gone through classes with people that I started with, so I've built camaraderie through those connections with this program. The professors do a really great job in building community. Even though we're not meeting physically every week in a classroom, we're still holding that same space online.” - Britnee Christen, COML Alum

As a Gonzaga student, you’ll also gain lifetime access to our vibrant alumni network and university resources, including expert faculty, career development professionals, and leadership mentors who are invested in your growth.

Make an Impact Locally or Globally

Are you looking to influence positive change in your organization, community, or even on a global scale?

As a Jesuit institution, Gonzaga specializes in whole-person education, ethical decision-making, and social justice. This means you’ll engage with your learning community, applying your knowledge to real-world challenges and developing impactful solutions for the systems and issues you navigate every day.

“As I near the completion of this program, my philosophy has grown deeper, more grounded, and more honest. I lead with greater clarity, curiosity and conviction.” - Pamela Radisek, ORGL Student

Customization

Because impact looks different for everyone, both master’s programs offer the opportunity to personalize your learning experience. These opportunities may look like our optional study abroad experiences in places like Brussels, Florence, and Cali, Colombia. Typically just 9 to 14 days abroad, you can immerse yourself without committing to a full semester.

Students can also choose from five electives, with options ranging from Psychology of Leadership and Foresight & Strategy to Leadership, Justice & Forgiveness, among others. Or focus your electives around a concentration such as Global Leadership, Change Leadership, Servant Leadership, or Strategic & Organizational Communication. Learn more about concentration options for COML and ORGL.

This flexibility empowers you to shape your educational journey around your passions and professional goals.

So whether you’re looking to pivot, level up, or lead with purpose, Gonzaga’s leadership master’s programs are designed to help you get there.
