Parent and Family Orientation

Gonzaga University understands the important role that family members play in their students' lives and educational success. Continued communication and support from family members can contribute immeasurably to the success of new GU students.

Parent/Family Orientation runs concurrently with New Student Orientation. Through this program, parents and family members will have the opportunity to learn about the many offices, services, academic programs and resources Gonzaga University has to offer. While you and your student will have separate itineraries, you will connect several times throughout the weekend. This separation is the first step for students to learn autonomy and develop the skills they'll need to be successful at Gonzaga. Through Parent/Family Orientation, families can build a partnership with Gonzaga University, focusing on ways in which everyone can support students in reaching their educational and career goals.
