Gonzaga University understands the important role that family members play in their students' lives and educational success. Continued communication and support from family members can contribute immeasurably to the success of new GU students.
Parent and Family Orientation provides the opportunity to learn about the many offices, services, academic programs, and resources Gonzaga University has to offer. Through Parent and Family Orientation, families can build a partnership with Gonzaga University, focusing on ways in which everyone can support students in reaching their educational and career goals.
This is a very important time in your student’s life. You can help by being active participants at Parent and Family Orientation. Be prepared to take notes during the sessions and write down questions in advance. Gonzaga’s office of Parent and Family Relations strives to make this transition to college as smooth as possible.
On your student's assigned move-in day, (August 26th, 27th, or 28th) we kindly ask that you say your goodbyes and depart campus after the dinner break, by 8:30 PM. In an effort to keep the number of guests on campus to a minimum due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols we will not be hosting on-campus/in person programming for parent and family members beyond your student's assigned move-in date. In addition, there will be no on-campus/in person parent and family programming on Saturday, August 29th or Sunday, August 30th. We understand that the circumstances of our time can make this transition even more difficult than usual. We appreciate your patience, amenability, and understanding throughout this process.
