This lab features a new materials testing system that allows us to evaluate the mechanical properties of materials, whether this be the modulus of bone, the fracture strength of an implant material, or the fatigue resistance of a prosthetic device. This can be incorporated as part of class experiences for students or can open avenues for new research directions.
