Jason Schnagl Recognized as Outstanding Colleague
The SEAS Dean's Office is proud to recognize the Outstanding Colleague for November, Jason Schnagl, M.B.A.
Jason serves as the Computer Science System Administrator and recently celebrated 15 years of service at Gonzaga University.
Known for his proactive support and steady demeanor, Jason brings out the best in those around him. He takes every concern seriously, partners constructively with ITS, and infuses his work with humor and goodwill. His thoughtful advocacy helps shape policies and systems that enable our faculty, staff, and students to thrive.
Throughout his tenure, Jason has been an unwavering advocate for the Computer Science Department, especially as campus ITS protocols and expectations continue to evolve. He approaches challenges with patience, professionalism, and good humor, faithfully guiding colleagues toward effective solutions (even when faculty frustrations run high).
A recent highlight of Jason’s contributions is his leadership in deploying SEAS’s new shared GPU server, a significant milestone that will expand computing and research capabilities across the school.
Balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders, Jason is now working to implement a scheduler and data warehouse to maximize its impact. Jason’s dedication goes beyond technical expertise. He takes the time to connect personally, stopping by faculty offices to check in, following up promptly on requests, and ensuring thorough documentation and communication.
His consistency, initiative, and respect have built a deep culture of trust within the department.
