Recap: An Evening with the Smitty Fellows

Gonzaga Law Smitty Fellows meet.

December 01, 2017

The inaugural group of Smitty Leadership Fellows—an innovative mentoring program named after Smithmoore P. “Smitty” Myers, the beloved, two-time Dean of Gonzaga University School of Law—had the opportunity to attend a fireside chat with Don (’60) and Va Lena Curran ('58), Judge Kathleen O’Connor ('75), and Nancy Isserlis ('80).

The Fellows discussed leadership in the legal community and received great advice about how to have a fulfilling legal career. Between a few warm laughs, memorable stories were shared about law school and the practice of law in Spokane. Guest speakers capped off the night by commenting on how proud Dean Smitty Myers would have been of this amazing group of law students, which included Ben Asare, Dakota Black, Mary Carter, Sayde Davis, Pam Kohlmeier, Nicole Luth, Lucio Maldonado, Michael Merkelbach, Ethan Vodde, Karley Whisman and Mollyanne Wincek.
