About This Event

Ellen Bradley is a Lingít skier, scientist, and storyteller born and raised near the Salish Sea (Puget Sound). Ellen graduated from Gonzaga in 2020 with a double major in Biology and Environmental Studies. While a Zag, Ellen was extensively involved across campus working in Dr. Bancroft's lab, at the Office of Sustainability, and in many of the environmental clubs, most notably Fossil Free Gonzaga. Since graduating, Ellen has worked on various research projects, ranging from epiphyte growth on Big Leaf Maples in the Hoh Rainforest to the impact of wildfires on phytoplankton in tundra lakes of the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta. Within skiing, Ellen is focused on sharing her first film, the award winning “Let My People Go Skiing”, while working on various initiatives to break down the barriers to accessing snow sports across Turtle Island. In the many hats Ellen wears, she roots all of her work in Traditional Ecological Knowledge, fighting for LandBack and tribal sovereignty and self-determination.

Join the Office of Sustainability on April 17th from 12:15-1:15 PM in the Jepson Wolff Auditorium for a screening of Ellen Bradley's film "Let My People Go Skiing" followed by an audience Q&A with Bradley.
