About This Event
Light of the Filipino Spirit: Bayanihan, Resiliency, Faith, and Hope
Presenter: Robert Gipal, Fulbright Visiting Scholar/Tagalog Instructor at Caraga State University (Philippines)
Joins us to celebrate the first event of the International Education Week. The presentation "Light of the Filipino Spirit: Bayanihan, Resiliency, Faith, and Hope" explores the core values that define the Filipino identity. It highlights bayanihan or communal unity, the Filipino's remarkable resiliency in facing hardships, and the guiding forces of faith and hope that sustain the nation's spirit. Through storytelling and the symbolism of the parol (Filipino lantern), the presentation celebrates how Filipinos find light, strength, and joy even in adversity. Participants will enjoy a Filipino lunch and make a Parol lantern.
