The time is 1963. Upon losing their deferment, Walt and Henry receive an invitation from the US government for an all-expense-paid trip to sunny southeast Asia and a little known country called Vietnam. Henry has to report to Tigerland, Fort Polk in Louisiana, and Walt must report to Parris Island in South Carolina - sending our youthful heroes hurtling off on a cross-country road trip on the legendary Mother Road, Route 66. The question then becomes, how far do they go before they get into trouble?
