Did you know that the Doctoral Program in Leadership Studies (DPLS) program has been graduating students since the early 1980s? To celebrate, the School of Leadership Studies (SLS) will be hosting its annual dinner, where we’ll celebrate all things DPLS. We hope you can join us on Saturday, October 8th for this anniversary dinner, where you can connect with fellow students and  faculty, make new friends, and celebrate this program milestone.

With nearly 500 graduates that span a period of over 40 years the Doctoral Program in Leadership Studies has achieved national recognition and international reach. Both core and adjunct faculty come from diverse backgrounds and lend the program a rich experience base. Alumni of the program also represent a broad range of professions and cultures. Among many places globally, the program has welcomed doctoral students and alumni from Afghanistan, Canada, Ecuador, Japan, Kenya, Mexico, Nigeria, the Philippines, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, and Zimbabwe, as well as from the Spokane Native American Nation and several other indigenous nations of the Pacific Northwest including the Cree, Nez Perce, Salish, Blackfeet, and Northern Cheyenne nations. DPLS alumni have won national awards for the most outstanding dissertation in the field, and alumni and faculty have generated more than 100 books, many to critical acclaim, advancing a holistic perspective of leadership in both national and global realities. Among other professional roles, graduates are professors throughout the world, healthcare professionals, international leadership consultants and trainers, members of research think-tanks, presidents of non-profit and for-profit organizations, vice presidents and presidents of universities, leaders in higher education, entrepreneurs, CEOs of major corporations, and people of far-reaching influence in a wide variety of industries. The program has enjoyed significant partnerships through the years with leading universities and research thinktanks in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
