El Poder de Contarlo (The Power to Tell) Film Screening

About This Event

The Department of Women's and Gender Studies will host this event to screen the documentary "El Poder de Contarlo" (The Power to Tell), a documentary produced in Spokane that centers on the stories of three Latinas and their experiences with domestic violence and sexual assault. We will partner with Mujeres in Action, a domestic violence awareness organization from Spokane, who are also the creators of this documentary, to raise awareness about these issues and the available resources in the local Latinx community.

Along with the screening, we will have a panel of community experts for a Q&A. Experts are from Gonzaga University, YWCA, and Midé Integrative Therapies.

Trained staff from Mujeres in Action will be present to provide one-to-one support if needed during and after the event.
