About This Event

The Gonzaga University Urban Arts Center will be exhibiting a retrospective of Professor Emerita Mary Farrell’s work September 3rd. through October 22nd. Meditation on Place: Prints & Drawings From the Last 25 Years highlights the breadth, expertise and influence of Professor Farrell’s work, from large scale installation to intimate moments. Farrell’s work finds meaning in the larger world through both human and plant forms, with geography and topography as an inspiration for her drawing. The GUUAC, on the third floor of the Spokane Warehouse and Storage Co. building at 125 S. Stevens Street in downtown Spokane, will host two receptions for the show; September 3rd and October 1st from 5 to 8pm. An opportunity to walkthrough the gallery with the artist is scheduled for October 7th at 12:30pm.

The show will also include work from former students of Professor Farrell: Ann Kilzer, Jesse Peck, John O’Donnell, Carley Schmidt and Kathleen Delaney Carr.

As of August 16, 2021 Gonzaga University is requiring all students and employees (vaccinated or not) to wear face coverings (e.g., masks) for at least the first several weeks of the fall semester in congregate indoor spaces (e.g., classrooms, labs, large meeting areas, and public gathering spaces) where numerous people are gathering in close proximity.

Please note that you will be required to complete a visitor form upon entry to the exhibit for contact tracing purposes.
