About This Event

Mike Nemeth, US Army Veteran & editor of Six Word War.

West Point graduate Mike Nemeth was commissioned as a military intelligence officer for the United States Army. Following his service, he became an engineer for Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation but eventually his heart returned him home to Ohio to pursue entrepreneurial opportunities building startups in advanced materials industry, specifically carbon fiber and nanotechnology. He was recently appointed by the US Secretary of Commerce to serve on the National Advisory Council on Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Currently Mike is President of a custom athletic apparel company, Emblem Athletic. And that’s only one version of the Mike Nemeth story.

Mike is also something of a prankster and crowdsourcing whiz, having “written” books like Discipline: The Annapolis Way, which consisted of 100 blank pages and became an overnight best seller on Amazon, presumably with an Army crowd. He also edited the first-ever crowd-sourced war memoir called The Six Word War, which compiled six word short stories from Iraq and Afghanistan veterans. Presently he is working on a project that parodies the business book genre called Business Time! The Ultimate Guaranteed Guide to Crushing Your Goals, Finding Work-Life Balance, Becoming a Leader, Ending Procrastination, Being the Best Version of You, Losing Weight, Finding Joy, Impressing Your Friends, and Becoming Rich (and secret coloring book). Mike’s books have been featured in The Atlantic, Forbes, Huffington Post, and CBS National Evening News.

This event is open to veterans only.
