This story is one of a series written by students in the Gonzaga in Delft program, a course from the Civil Engineering department exploring sustainable practices of the Netherlands.

Presentation day is here! It’s now the last day of the trip and we are working on recording our final presentations for the city of Spokane. Each student’s presentation showcases one of the sustainable designs that we’ve studied here in Delft and persuades the city of Spokane to implement this design. After recording and rerecording to get the perfect video, we submitted our final drafts and by five o’clock we were officially done with the class (besides completing our final paper).

To celebrate the end of the course, we commemorated the trip with a big family dinner. This dinner was excellent. There were enough fries for everyone and the crème brûlée was to die for, in my opinion.

After dinner, we took a final group photo with everybody looking fabulous and said our goodbyes.

Outdoor sculpture of a table lamp, ceramic base with Japanese-style illustration of peaches on branches, with a large fabric lamp shade. No people to scale but some outdoor tables and chairs look small behind it.
A few of us then finished off our evening by checking out a few spots we didn’t get a chance to see yet, like this huge lamp and a tile mural of old Delft.
