About This Event
Dr. Sarah Bond (University of Iowa) will be visiting to give a public lecture about the history of Rome through the lens of labor history. Her recent book, Strike! Labor, Unions, and Resistance in the Roman Empire, presents a thorough and accessible account of how Roman workers (both free and enslaved) organized and withheld their labor as a way to negotiate for better working conditions.
