The Gonzaga University School of Business Administration is proud to announce that the Gonzaga University SHRM student chapter has received SHRM's Outstanding Chapter Award for the 2025-2026 academic year, the highest recognition awarded to SHRM student chapters.

The award recognizes excellence in chapter operations, programming, professional development, support of the human resource profession, and engagement with SHRM. While Gonzaga's chapter has earned SHRM recognition over the past decade through Honorable Mention, Merit, and Superior Merit designations, this marks the first time the chapter has achieved the Outstanding level.

"The members of our SHRM student chapters represent the next generation of HR leaders, and their passion, talent, and commitment are vital to the future of our profession," said Johnny C. Taylor, Jr., SHRM-SCP, President & CEO, SHRM. "The accomplishments of Gonzaga University's student chapter reflect the innovation, leadership, and dedication that will shape tomorrow's workplaces. I applaud their success and ability to drive innovative programming, professional development, and a deeper interest in HR."

Throughout the year, the chapter focused on creating opportunities for students to connect classroom learning with real-world HR practice. Members engaged with industry professionals through speaker presentations, networking events, business tours, professional development workshops, and the HR Leaders of Tomorrow Conference.

The chapter was led during the 2025-2026 academic year by Shaye Tuttle (President 25-26, BBA 2026 & SHRM-CP) and Diana Prieto-Robles (Vice President 25-26, BBA 2026). Drs. Rebecca Bull Schaefer and Stephanie Van Dellen served as Faculty Advisors. Lily Godkin and Caroline Turner, returning board members, will lead next year's chapter as President and Vice President.

When asked to comment, Dr. Bull Schaefer said she was "incredibly impressed with the variety of collaborate events this year's chapter imagined, inspiring more students to pursue personal professional development. Shaye and Diana were determined to earn the Outstanding designation for the SBA. They put in the work and made it happen."

Congratulations to the Gonzaga SHRM chapter on earning SHRM's highest student chapter honor and continuing to advance leadership and professional development opportunities for future HR professionals.
