Gonzaga students love to serve their community, get outside whenever possible, and cheer for the Zags at every opportunity, according to this year’s Princeton Review college rankings.

The Princeton Review's "Best 392 Colleges: 2027 Edition" rankings arrived this week and Gonzaga earned a spot in the Top 25 across 10 specialty categories.

This issue is the 35th edition of the company's flagship college guide, which debuted in 1992. The rankings are based on feedback from current students about the schools' academics, administrative services, financial aid, and campus amenities alongside insights into student body social life, political leanings, sports interests, race/class interaction, LGBTQ community acceptance, and more.

The rankings offer a snapshot of life at Gonzaga as experienced by the people who know it best: the students.

In this year's issue Gonzaga’s complete rankings are:

It is no shock that Gonzaga has been ranked so high in school spirit; we are not new to this. The previous two years Gonzaga has earned the No. 1 spot in “Students Love Their School Teams.” Zags might need to cheer a little louder this season to get back on top. Still, second isn’t too shabby.

Zags’ rating in “Most Engaged in Community Service,” “Friendliest Students” and “Happiest Students,” “Green Matters: Everyone Cares About Conservation,” “Great Outdoors: Students Get Outside,” and “Most Politically Moderate Students” is a natural reflection of the University’s Mission:

“The Gonzaga experience fosters a mature commitment to dignity of the human person, social justice, diversity, intercultural competence, global engagement, solidarity with the poor and vulnerable, and care for the planet.”

Rob Franek, lead author and Princeton Review editor in chief, says the 392 schools listed in the guide are “truly a select group.”

"They comprise only about 14% of America's nearly 2,800 four-year colleges," says Franek. "The colleges we profile in The Best 392 Colleges vary by type, size, locale, and campus culture. In our opinion, each one offers an academically outstanding undergraduate education.”

“The Best 392 Colleges: 2027 Edition” is just one of Princeton Review’s rankings publications throughout the year. Gonzaga was previously noted as one of the country’s “Green Colleges” for its continuous sustainability efforts, and Gonzaga’s on-campus MBA program through the School of Business Administration was named in the Princeton Review’s “Best Business Schools.”

The 50 ranking lists reported in the 2027 issue are entirely based on data from the company's surveys of 172,000 students at the 392 schools in the book from 2025-26. Find Princeton Review’s “The Best 392 Colleges: 2027 Edition” at princetonreview.com.
