New Online Reporting Hub Makes Speaking Up Easier for the Gonzaga Community
Gonzaga University has launched a new centralized reporting website designed to make it easier than ever for students, faculty, and staff to report concerns, seek support, and help foster a safe, accountable campus environment. The new "one-stop" reporting portal brings together multiple reporting options in a single location, eliminating the need to navigate through different university websites to find the appropriate resource. Gonzaga has also placed a “Report a Concern” link in the footer on every university webpage, ensuring it is always visible and accessible.
The portal serves as a convenient entry point for a variety of concerns, including student conduct issues, harassment and discrimination reports, bias, sexual harassment, hazing, student support referrals, campus safety concerns, and other matters that may require university attention. By centralizing these pathways, Gonzaga aims to remove barriers that can make reporting feel confusing or intimidating.
According to Brice Yates, Gonzaga's director, harassment and discrimination prevention & TIX coordinator, the portal reflects the university's commitment to creating a culture where community members know their concerns will be heard and addressed.
"Accountability begins with access. If someone experiences or witnesses something concerning, they shouldn't have to spend time figuring out where to go or who to contact. This new reporting portal puts those options in one place, making it easier for people to speak up and connect with the right resources. Every report is reviewed and routed to the appropriate university office, so concerns can be addressed responsibly, consistently, and with the care they deserve."
The reporting process is designed to connect individuals with the university office best equipped to respond. Depending on the nature of the concern, reports may be routed to areas such as the Resolution Center for Student Conduct and Conflict, Campus Security, Student Outreach and Support (SOS), Title IX, and Discrimination and Harassment Prevention. This coordinated approach helps ensure concerns receive timely attention while supporting fair and consistent processes across the institution.
For university leaders, the new portal is about more than efficiency. It is an investment in building and maintaining trust across the Gonzaga community. When reporting options are easy to find and understand, individuals are more likely to seek help, share concerns, or alert the university to situations that may affect the well-being of others.
Placing the reporting link on every Gonzaga webpage reinforces that message. Whether someone is visiting the university website for admissions information, academic resources, campus services, or event details, reporting options remain only a click away.
In addition to the "One Stop” reporting link on every Gonzaga webpage, there will be digital signage on campus with a QR code that allows faculty, staff and students to report issues. These improvements will make reporting easier, more accessible, and more responsive to feedback from the Gonzaga community.
Yates said that visibility matters when creating a culture of accountability.
"We want every member of our community to know that reporting is always an option. By making the portal visible across the university website and campus, we're sending a clear message: if something isn't right, Gonzaga wants to know about it and help. Accountability depends on people being willing and able to come forward, and our responsibility is to make that process as accessible as possible."
The new reporting hub reflects Gonzaga's ongoing commitment to safety, belonging, support, and accountability. By bringing reporting resources together in a single, easy-to-find location, the university is making it simpler for community members to raise concerns, access assistance, and contribute to a campus culture grounded in respect.
