Ryan Herzog and Annie Voy, both associate professors of economics at Gonzaga University, joined NPR’s “Here and Now” program along with their 18-year-old son Ben to talk about losing their home in the Spokane fires, what they did when they received the evacuation orders, and how Spokane and Gonzaga is responding to this community tragedy.

Herzog said only about 20 minutes elapsed between leaving their home and a camera capturing their house in flames.
